The Cost of Tobacco
Over the past few years, we have heard of numerous tax increases on tobacco. Just recently, Congress passed another tax hike in order to fund their children’s health insurance project. With the cost of smoking rising so rapidly, many people will be affected. It won’t just be the people who use this product, but everybody involved in the manufacturing process from inception to delivery. I believe our legislators do not look at the whole picture before passing laws. They focus on the negative effects of smoking without looking at the benefits. We need to provide both sides of the story so the public can be fully informed before labeling a product bad.
