Grammy Winner T.I. Launches AKOO Clothing Line
Hip hop artist T.I. launched the AKOO clothing line for men late in 2008 prior to entering prison on gun charges. AKOO stands for A King Of Oneself, which is also the title of T.I.’s 2008 album. Following his early release in 2009 for good behavior, T.I. entered a halfway house designed to help him transition from regimented prison life back to mainstream society. Reports from music industry insiders like Producer Jim Jonsin suggest that T.I. retains his creative edge, and seems focused on producing more cutting edge music. Beginning in 2005, T.I. received numerous music nominations and awards including Grammys in 2007 and 2009 for solo and collaborate performances.
