The Humanitarian Thing to Do

I joined New Tribes Mission because it was the humanitarian thing to do. I wanted to help people but didn’t have the resources to do the kind of work that I wanted to all by myself. The first mission I went on was to Venezuela. I had been to Central America several times, but I had never gone to the area that we went to. The people were living in desolate conditions. They had absolutely nothing. It was my job to help them with crops and planting. I stayed there for over a year, learning their language and all about the land. It was nice to be able to help a whole tribe.
